Job Title: Director of Audit

Job Summary:
CB Canada is seeking a skilled Director of Audit to support our Assurance Group in financial reporting, issue resolution, technical accounting support, consultations, and quality control processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in ASPE, IFRS, GAAP, and auditing standards. They will be responsible for performing quality monitoring reviews, conducting research, and preparing comments on new standards. Additionally, they will maintain responsibility for staff and executive training, prepare and present seminars, and participate in thought leadership.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to technical questions from staff regarding accounting and assurance-related matters
  • Perform quality monitoring reviews of engagement files
  • Conduct research on relevant issues and new standards
  • Prepare comments on new standards issued by CPA Canada
  • Maintain responsibility for staff and executive training
  • Prepare and present seminars or informational fact sheets to clients
  • Participate in thought leadership process and share functional and industry knowledge with colleagues and teams

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in assurance-related professional services
  • Strong technical background in ASPE, IFRS, GAAP, and auditing standards
  • Completion of the CPA, CA designation
  • Experience in presentation of internal training courses and/or external presentations
  • Ability to build strong connections with colleagues and clients
