Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Audit Regulatory Professional to join our team at the Canadian Public Accountability Board.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that involves conducting inspections of audit firms, maintaining control of assigned inspection work, and fostering professional relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing high-quality written reports and participating in projects aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of CPAB's inspection processes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct Inspections: Conduct inspections of audit firms in accordance with CPAB's inspection methodology, including discussions with engagement teams and firm leadership.
  • Maintain Control: Maintain control of assigned inspection work, meeting deadlines and conducting inspections efficiently and effectively.
  • Foster Relationships: Foster professional, productive, and respectful working relationships with colleagues, firms, and other external stakeholders.
  • Prepare Reports: Prepare high-quality written reports.
  • Participate in Projects: Participate in inspection projects aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of CPAB's inspection processes.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive public company accounting and audit experience at a Big Four or other national accounting firm.
  • CPA designation required.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of IFRS and Canadian Auditing Standards; US GAAP an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel approximately up to 6 weeks per year.
