Main Purpose and Function

The Planning Assistant III – Green Infrastructure is a key role in supporting the City's efforts to be a leader in climate adaptation and sustainable urban development. The position works closely with various departments and external stakeholders to develop and implement holistic approaches to rainwater management and green infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and analysis on green infrastructure policy, planning, and design, and provide technical support to stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development of policies, regulations, and programs related to green infrastructure and climate change adaptation.
  • Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to gather input and build collaboration on green infrastructure projects.
  • Support the development and implementation of communications materials to promote education, training, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Organize meetings and events, and provide support for public engagement and stakeholder processes.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urban planning, sustainability, or a related field, and experience in green infrastructure policy, planning, and design. The candidate should also have excellent research and analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively on inter-disciplinary teams.
