Main Purpose and Function

The Planning Assistant III – Green Infrastructure is a key role in supporting the City's efforts to be a leader in climate adaptation and sustainable urban development. This position is responsible for developing and implementing holistic, integrated approaches to rainwater management using green infrastructure tools such as green roofs, rain gardens, and water harvesting systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and analysis on green infrastructure policy, planning, design, and operations to inform decision-making and policy development.
  • Collaborate with various departments and external stakeholders to develop and implement green infrastructure projects and initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and advice on green infrastructure design, planning, and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain databases and records related to green infrastructure projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare and present reports, presentations, and other materials to stakeholders and decision-makers.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urban planning, sustainability, or a related field, with experience in green infrastructure policy, planning, and implementation. The candidate should also have excellent research and analytical skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.
