Job Summary:
WestCana Services is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring the overall maintenance of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance tasks as scheduled.
- Collect and dispose of recycling materials, shredding materials, and trash collection.
- Notify management of any equipment repairs or cleaning needs.
- Review maintenance logs and take corrective action to address any issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor facilities to identify and resolve physical facility or equipment malfunctions.
- Support the facility Safety Program and monitor safety in the living and working environment.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent.
- Legally allowed to work in Canada.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints.
- Valid certification in WHMIS.
- Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
- Passes and complies with Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Building Service Worker Certificate and/or Institutional Aide Certificate.
- Institutional cleaning experience.
- Certificate from a program in general maintenance or extensive experience as a maintenance worker with supervisory skills.
- Previous experience in a Long-Term Care facility.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
