Senior Corporate and Construction Contracts Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Corporate and Construction Contracts Specialist to join our team at BITS Recruiting. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in North York.
About the RoleThis exciting role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating corporate letters and documents, as well as construction contracts under CCDC standards. You will work closely with legal counsel and construction managers to ensure compliance with construction management principles.
You will be responsible for managing corporate support for subsidiaries, liaising with non-legal resources, and administering pre-construction and construction documents. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in maintaining accurate documentation and updating legal documents efficiently using contract management software.
Key Responsibilities- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating corporate letters and documents, as well as construction contracts under CCDC standards
- Managing corporate support for subsidiaries, liaising with non-legal resources, and administering pre-construction and construction documents
- Maintaining accurate documentation, organizing, and updating legal documents efficiently using contract management software
- Providing comprehensive corporate support, including drafting, negotiating, and managing legal documents and agreements
- Assisting legal counsel on all other legal duties/tasks, as required
- A law clerk or paralegal diploma or degree
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in corporate commercial law, construction law, or contract law, with specific exposure to construction contracts preferred
- Practical experience in drafting, negotiating, and managing legal documents and agreements, with a focus on corporate documents, construction contracts, and lien rights under CCDC guidelines
- Robust drafting skills, including legal letters, notices, and preparation of corporate documents such as resolutions, bylaws, articles of incorporation/amalgamation/dissolution
- Ability to manage complex contract structures, including understanding contract performance, warranties, and cost management under a construction management agreement
- Proficiency in legal research and using contract management software or document management systems
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex contractual terms to stakeholders
- Strong Organizational and prioritization abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
