Job Title: Safety and Compliance Coordinator

At CO_38 Bird Construction Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Safety and Compliance Coordinator to join our team. As a Safety and Compliance Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, clients, and partners.

Job Summary:

The Safety and Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management program. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support site supervision with the implementation and management of our Bird Safety Program.
* Collaborate with site leadership to develop and facilitate a proactive safety culture on the work site.
* Provide coaching, mentoring, and advice on HSE-related matters to field personnel.
* Ensure hazards associated with the work site are identified, documented, and controlled.
* Report, investigate, and document incidents on the worksite in accordance with Bird Construction and client requirements.
* Maintain site HSE statistics.
* Assist in the planning and startup of new projects with respect to site-specific safe work practices and procedures.
* Develop and maintain an HSE communication bulletin board.
* Ensure safety equipment and personal protective equipment are in place as required.
* Facilitate toolbox and safety meetings.
* Review and maintain field-level hazard assessments and observation forms.
* Liaise between clients and crew to discuss HSE concerns.
* Perform work site inspections.
* Facilitate orientation and training for site staff.
* Assist in the administration and management of our COR program.
* Other responsibilities as requested by site management.

What We're Looking For:

* National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation preferred.
* 3-5 years' HSE experience, preferably in a construction environment.
* Valid Driver's License and Clean Driver's Abstract.
* End-User Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry & Monitor, Standard First Aid considered an asset.
* Ability to work out of town based on project assignments located within Manitoba.
* Good working knowledge of local government Health & Safety Acts, Policies, Regulations, and Industry Standards as they apply to the construction industry.
* Ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups.
* Ability to remain objective and maintain a factual perspective when dealing with questions and inquiries.
* Sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
* Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
