Job Summary

First Student Canada-Transco is seeking an Apprentice Mechanic to join our team. As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will assist experienced technicians with vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring our fleet is safe and reliable for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Assist Journeyman Technicians with complex repairs, such as engine overhauls and transmission replacements.
  • Conduct safety inspections and maintain accurate records of maintenance work completed.
  • Develop skills in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, including brakes, suspensions, and drivetrains.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Previous experience in gas or diesel vehicle repair, preferably with school buses.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
