Job Summary

We are seeking an Apprentice Mechanic to join our team in Toronto, ON. As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will assist Journeyman Technicians with vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring our fleet is safe and reliable for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and repairs under the supervision of experienced technicians.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, transmission clutches, and other repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work completed, including parts and supplies used.
  • Evaluate completed work for quality and seek supervisor approval as needed.
  • Notify supervisors of potentially hazardous equipment and take corrective action.
  • Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
  • Assist with road calls and emergency services as required.
  • Adhere to company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Previous experience in gas or diesel vehicle repair, with school bus experience an asset.
  • Appropriate mechanic's tool set.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work assigned shift.
