Packaging Supervisor

Pharmascience is seeking a highly skilled Packaging Supervisor to join our team at the Royalmount site. As a key member of our packaging team, you will play a vital role in supporting the implementation of independent work teams and ensuring the smooth operation of our packaging processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and motivate a team of packaging employees to achieve high levels of productivity and quality.
- Develop and maintain a healthy work climate and foster team members' participation and engagement.
- Represent the team's needs and issues to improve results, HST, quality, and productivity.
- Identify and recommend training and development needs for employees based on the succession plan and team needs.
- Coordinate training-related activities for the team, including internal and external training programs.
- Validate knowledge acquisition and ensure its application.
- Act as a contact person, trainer, and coach for team members.
- Encourage and promote employee participation, knowledge sharing, and experience sharing.
- Acknowledge employees' contributions to achieving objectives.
- Implement efficient work shift transitions and support employees to ensure set objectives are met.
- Develop employees' skills according to the existing model.
- Promote HST, quality, productivity, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Develop employees' accountability to become responsible for their results and improvement opportunities.
- Support Line Leaders in implementing the use of SAP and ensuring they master the system well.
- Involve team members in decision-making during quality issues to ensure they can properly assess situations and corrective measures.
- Ensure team members work in accordance with set priorities and emergencies.
- Ensure set standard times are met by employees under supervision.
- Assess and recommend resources required to meet production needs, according to customer demand.
- Research, identify, develop, and implement management tools required to efficiently perform activities.
- Contribute to the definition and application of control and follow-up measures for the team.
- Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities and projects that impact profitability and customer service.
- Promote and participate in the implementation of approved changes to improve work methods and processes and ensure follow-up.
- Act as an agent of change within the team.
- Follow up with each employee to discuss performances regarding HST, GMPs, quality, productivity, and teamwork, and identify issues to highlight and improve.
- Ensure employees respect set work sequences.
- Ensure the appropriate level of buddy-trainer is available to support employees' training needs.
- Support Line Leaders in clearly communicating work objectives to employees at the start of their shift.
- Support Line Leaders in analyzing results according to set frequencies and ensuring follow-up of corrective measures provided by team members.
- Develop employees' skills regarding results analysis and implementation of corrective measures.
- Submit a weekly report to the Manager/Director, including action plans required to improve achieved performances.
- Follow up on corrective measures and assess results obtained.
- Analyze, explain, and submit action plans for all variances exceeding $1,000 for each production on a weekly basis.
- Identify and delegate an activity to each team member to increase development of his people.
- Provide tools and support required to oversee employees adequately.
- Set and communicate clear and realistic expectations for deliverables based on available resources.
- Apply human resources policies and procedures with the team.
- Conduct selection interviews for employees of the team.
- Select and recommend candidates to the Manager/Director.
- Evaluate the performance of employees on the team.
- Ensure achievement of set performance levels for team members and support them in meeting expected objectives.
- Participate in enforcing disciplinary measures and managing team members.
- Provide a work environment that meets standards and rules in effect (i.e., HST, GMP).
- Ensure appropriate information transmission within the team as well as in other sectors.
- Set up a meeting with all packaging employees on a weekly basis to discuss results achieved and key issues experienced, as well as objectives and things to come.
- Meet with each Line Leader on a weekly basis to discuss their team's performance (points to highlights and points to improve).
- Develop employees' knowledge regarding communication, feedback between colleagues, and teamwork.
- In order to respond appropriately to internal and external clients, the Supervisor will establish, implement, and enforce service policies and standards.
- Promote 'focus on internal/external clients' within the team.
- Skilled in personnel supervision and motivation.
- Focused on achieving results, good leadership, and prioritizing employee development to make the team efficient and independent.
- Possess very good technical knowledge, with a focus on HST and GMPs.
