About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technologist to join our team at Dillon Consulting. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for collaborating with engineers, planners, scientists, and technical and administrative support staff in the development of detailed design contract packages.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of transportation structures;
  • Complete detailed design drafting for a variety of project types;
  • Apply 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD and other specialty programs to produce design drawings;
  • Prepare construction drawings/documents;
  • Assist with contract administration tasks including construction observation, shop drawing review, contractor submittal review, progress payment preparation, and responding to requests for information;
  • Coordinate and complete site assessments, construction observation and construction management of site documentation;
  • Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request.

Qualifications

  • Diploma program from an accredited Architectural or Engineering Technologist Program, or equivalent;
  • 2-5 Years of experience in the engineering consulting industry;
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills;
  • Highly organized and detail oriented;
  • Proficient use of current AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other Bridge Information Modeling (BrIM) software is considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of Civil 3D is considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial/industry engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements is considered an asset;
  • Understanding of the range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administration is considered an asset.
