At GFL Environmental, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our team in Fort St John, BC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet of trucks and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy duty mechanics, with at least 1 year of experience as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated trucks, as well as associated heavy duty equipment.

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health, dental, and vision coverage, you will also receive a tool allowance, shift differentials, and premiums paid for certain certifications.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical diploma desired.
  • 1+ year experience as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic.
  • Relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.
  • Fine motor coordination and ability to kneel, crawl, and climb.
  • Ability to exert physical effort, including pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting items up to 100 lbs.
