We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Educational Support Specialist to join our team at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. As an integral member of our school community, you will provide support to students with exceptional needs, working collaboratively with teaching and other professional staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with autism spectrum disorders, behaviour management programs, and developmental delays
  • Participate in pool programs, academic support, and implementing special programs
  • Assist students with learning disabilities, speech/language issues, and other special needs
  • Perform outside yard duties, lifting, toileting, and/or pool duties as required
Requirements
  • Community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years of related experience with school-aged special needs children
  • American Sign Language Level 3 certification
  • Valid First Aid certification/CPR Level C
  • Behaviour Modification training and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and/or TCI certification
