Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Sterile Processing Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and sterility in our operating room supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and distribute supplies, surgical instruments, and related equipment for the Operating Room (OR)
  • Disassemble, wash, clean, and reassemble anaesthetic and related equipment according to established procedures
  • Pick surgical supplies/instruments for surgical cases as per established procedures and/or per physician's request
  • Transport contaminated equipment and instruments to and from the Operating Room (OR)
  • Maintain cleanliness of sterilizers and sterile core and instrument room
  • Distribute instrument and/or equipment in accordance to established procedures
  • Issue and/or deliver supplies as requested
  • Participate in the Departmental Quality Assurance Program by participating in the routine maintenance of departmental equipment
Requirements
  • Grade 12, successful completion of Sterile Supply Processing Program, plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology
  • Mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal effectively with others
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
