Job Title: Early Childhood Educator On-Call

Capilano University is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team on a part-time, on-call basis. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and inclusive early learning environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in delivering programs and operations of the Child Care Facility according to child care legislation and regulations.
  • Provide child guidance and learning environment, ensuring physical and emotional care, and promoting children's feelings, growth, and development.
  • Ensure the health and safety of children, in compliance with BC Community Care and Assisted Living Act's current Child Care Licensing Regulations and Capilano Children's Centre policies.
  • Promote a play-based, family-focused early care and learning program for children, providing a place to develop their potential through freedom to explore and engage in the world around them.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an Early Childhood Education diploma program, including the Early Childhood Education certificate, Special Needs Education license, and/or Infant/Toddler Education license.
  • Strong knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and ability to implement it into practice.
  • One year of directly related experience in a child care centre (or other early year's setting) within the last two years.
  • Completion of a valid safety-oriented first-aid certificate.
