About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Blood Collection Officer to join our team at Kimberley Mobile. As a key member of our blood collection team, you will be responsible for collecting quality safe blood and blood products according to specific targets set per blood drive.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cost Management: Manage cost per unit for both whole blood and specialized collections within agreed blood drive/donor centre target by determining, packing, and loading consumables as per the target.
  2. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and validate equipment to ensure timely repairs.
  3. Reporting: Report increases/decreases in consumable usage and discrepancies in stock deliveries to the Clinic Supervisor.
  4. Stakeholder Relations: Manage stakeholder relations at the blood drive and/or donor centre.
  5. Donor Support: Welcome donors, assist with registration, and provide necessary information before medical assessment.
  6. Documentation: Complete donor documentation and assessment procedures according to relevant SOPs.
  7. Recruitment: Assist with recruitment and booking of donors to meet assigned targets.
  8. Basic Physical Checks: Conduct basic physical checks on donors, capture relevant information, and report any deviations to the Clinic Supervisor.
  9. Treatment: Initiate treatment in emergencies (First Aid/CPR) pending arrival of emergency personnel.
  10. Post-Donation Care: Provide post-donation care and advice.
  11. Team Management: Perform Clinic Supervisor duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree: Diploma/Degree in General Nursing Sciences.
  • Licensing: Code B or EB Manual driver's license.
  • Experience: 2 years Registered Professional Nursing experience.
Working Conditions

This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, interacting with donors, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain attention to detail is essential.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is R 424,289.00 per annum.
