Blood Collection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Database Officer. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about data management and analysis.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing cost per unit for both whole blood and specialized collections within agreed targets. They will also maintain and validate equipment, report increases/decreases in consumable usage, and manage stakeholder relations at blood drives and/or donor centers.
Additional responsibilities include welcoming donors, assisting with registration, and ensuring that customer needs and priorities are understood at all times. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, applicants must have a Diploma/Degree in General Nursing Sciences, a Code B or EB Manual driver's license, and at least 2 years of Registered Professional Nursing experience. Relevant SANBS policies and procedures, as well as Standards of Practice for Blood Transfusion in SA, are essential knowledge areas.
The selected candidate will also need to possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A high level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality is required when handling sensitive information.
