Credit Risk Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Manager to join our team at E.B. Horsman & Son. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing credit risk and accounts receivable across Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and approve credit limits and payment terms for new customers
- Work with the Credit team to ensure timely collection of all accounts and provide insights to the Controller and Executive team on any potential risks
- Oversight of the credit applications process
- Manage complex credit situations and act as the subject matter expert on credit risk mitigation using the latest tools and technologies
- Key member of the team working on driving the advancement of AR automation processes
- Oversight of the AR policies and ensuring they are adhered to and fully documented, reviewed and updated on a regular basis
- Leading proactive efforts to collect past-due amounts while maintaining strong communication with customers and internal teams and stakeholders
- Consolidation and review of aged AR listings and providing weekly updates to the Controller and executive team
- Supervise and mentor the credit team and provide coaching on policy, lien laws and legal compliance as well as internal and external communication strategies and requirements
- Reporting and management of AR KPI's, allowance for doubtful accounts, deferred revenue and other reporting as may be required by management
- Represent the company on any legal collection issues including dealing with collection agencies and/or initiating legal action and appearing in court on the company's behalf if required
- Post secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent combination of related experience and education
- CCP designation is a strong asset
- 10+ years of customer experience
- 5+ years in a management role in a high-growth entrepreneurial environment
- 5+ years in a collection's role across Western Canada
- Demonstrated experience leading, managing and mentoring a team
- Experience working in a similar industry is a strong asset
- MS office and ERP experience and the ability to learn new software
- Excitement around continuous improvement and improving processes
- Highly level of professionalism grounded in integrity, strong communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and respect cultural diversity; ability to be inclusive, collaborative, and respectful
- Reliable transportation is required
