Credit Risk Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Manager to join our team at E.B. Horsman & Son. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing credit risk and accounts receivable across Western Canada. Your expertise will help us balance sales, cash flow, and risk through credit approvals and collections.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze and approve credit limits and payment terms for new customers, as well as regular review and adjustment of limits as necessary.
- Work with the Credit team to ensure timely collection of all accounts and provide insights to the Controller and Executive team on potential risks.
- Oversight of the credit applications process.
- Manage complex credit situations and act as the subject matter expert on credit risk mitigation using the latest tools and technologies.
- Lead proactive efforts to collect past-due amounts while maintaining strong communication with customers and internal teams and stakeholders.
- Consolidate and review aged AR listings and provide weekly updates to the Controller and executive team.
- Supervise and mentor the credit team and provide coaching on policy, lien laws, and legal compliance as well as internal and external communication strategies and requirements.
- Report and manage AR KPIs, allowance for doubtful accounts, deferred revenue, and other reporting as may be required by management.
- Represent the company on legal collection issues, including dealing with collection agencies and/or initiating legal action and appearing in court on the company's behalf if required.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent combination of related experience and education.
- CCP designation is a strong asset.
- 10+ years of customer experience.
- 5+ years in a management role in a high-growth entrepreneurial environment.
- 5+ years in a collections role across Western Canada.
- Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and mentoring a team.
- Experience working in a similar industry is a strong asset.
- MS Office and ERP experience and the ability to learn new software.
- Excitement around continuous improvement and improving processes.
- High level of professionalism grounded in integrity, strong communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and respect cultural diversity; ability to be inclusive, collaborative, and respectful.
- Reliable transportation is required.
