Job Title: Graphics Arts Technician

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Graphics Arts Technician to join our team at John Abbott College. As a key member of our Communications department, you will be responsible for designing and creating visual content that reflects our college's unique identity and brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality visual content, including graphics, signage, and presentations, that align with our college's brand identity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to brainstorm and strategize on a wide range of projects, including social media visuals, marketing collateral, and internal communications.
  • Translate strategic direction into compelling design concepts that meet our college's brand standards.
  • Develop original content by determining the ideal use of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
  • Liaise with internal clients and external suppliers to ensure quality control and timely delivery of projects.
  • Maintain graphic artwork in a centralized system and ensure that all team members have access to the latest designs.
  • Encourage users to respect our college's branding guidelines across all campus activities.

Requirements:

  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in graphic design, preferably in the printing domain or related field.
  • Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects.
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and comfortable working in a Mac environment.
  • Strong dynamism, autonomy, team spirit, and creativity, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
