Course Overview
The University of Ottawa is seeking a qualified instructor to teach a course on law practice entrepreneurship and management. This course is designed for legal professionals who are looking to build and operate a small or solo law practice.
Course Objectives
- To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the key issues in running an ethical, professional, and viable small practice
- To equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to build and manage a successful law practice
- To explore the unique challenges and opportunities of legal entrepreneurship
Responsibilities
- Teach a course on law practice entrepreneurship and management
- Develop and implement a course syllabus that meets the needs of the students
- Provide students with feedback and guidance throughout the course
- Participate in course evaluations and provide feedback to the university
Requirements
- LL.B., J.D., or equivalent degree
- Membership in the Law Society of Ontario in good standing
- Significant practical experience working in or operating a small or solo law practice
- Prior teaching experience is an asset
Additional Information
This course is offered during the January intensive session. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a talented group of students and contribute to the development of the next generation of legal professionals.
