About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research and Development Engineer to join our team at Baylis Medical Technologies Inc. As a key member of our research and development team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our dynamic portfolio of innovative medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to integrate into every stage of product development, from conceptualization to commercialization.
  • Lead the development of plans and testing for design verification and validation.
  • Drive the development of intellectual property within the company.
  • Provide technical, project-level leadership to junior engineering staff as needed.
  • Support and lead Research and Development sustaining projects as they arise on commercial production lines.
  • Adhere to all requirements of the Quality Management System.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a bachelor's Engineering degree.
  • ~6+ years of experience working in an engineering role.
  • ~ Knowledge of risk management as per ISO.
  • ~ Ability to independently develop and adapt work plans based on vague or changing project goals.
  • ~ Strong hypothesis-driven experimental design and statistical analysis skills.
  • ~ Demonstrated experience in creative engineering design.
  • ~ Strong interest in biomedical technology.
  • ~ Dynamic, flexible approach to work with a results-oriented attitude.
  • ~ Candidates must possess experience in at least one of the following areas: hydrophilic coating, injection molding part design, or the development of steerable catheters/sheaths.
