Director, Research and Policy (Contract)

As a Director, Research and Policy, you'll play a key role in developing and maintaining a comprehensive public affairs program with domestic government officials across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze political, policy, and legislative developments to identify potential issues and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to foster a deep understanding of our performance, enterprise strategy, and investment programs with policymakers.
  • Prepare communication materials and briefing notes for senior executives when meeting with government officials.
  • Conduct research and prepare submissions, reports, and white papers as required.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Legislative Affairs, to manage and facilitate the appointments process.

Requirements:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in public affairs, the financial sector, or a senior research or project management role.
  • A degree in political science, communications, business administration, economics, or public policy (Master's degree preferred).
  • Strong strategic thinking and research skills.
  • A solid grasp of the institutional investor/pension fund landscape and our place within it.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
