Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our food services team at Sodexo Canada Ltd. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook foodstuffs in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served.
  • Set up, maintain, and break down station according to food operating guidelines.
  • Taste all products produced to assess quality.
  • Notify Sous Chef and/or Executive Chef of all product shortages and equipment maintenance issues.
  • Prepare and serve items in accordance with established portion and presentation standards.
  • Maintain accurate counts on all food items prepared, ensuring no discrepancies in amount of food needed verses amount of food prepared.
  • Use food preparation equipment according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Clean and maintain station while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
  • Follow defined food sanitation guidelines in preparation of food product and maintaining work environment.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Attend training programs as designated.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment.
  • Attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
  • Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures and all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
  • Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Food Safe Level I is minimum. Safe Check advanced food safety certification or HACCP certification is an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year's cooking experience in a similar or hotel/institutional environment.
  • Personal and professional integrity, appearance, and demeanor.
