About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at GS Construction. As an Excavation Specialist, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, and trenchers in a variety of construction settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to excavate and move materials
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill tanks as needed
  • Prepare accident reports and secure special attachments to equipment
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment to coordinate with team members
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment to minimize downtime
Work Environment

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including dusty and hazardous environments. You will be required to work at various locations, including construction sites, sewers, and water mains.

Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience operating heavy equipment
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy equipment and materials
  • Ability to work overtime as required
