About the Role

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to fill the position of Strategic Health Workforce Director. As a key member of the Ministry of Health, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of health workforce strategies, as well as coordinating programs and services related to the development of Alberta's health workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team responsible for the development and implementation of health workforce strategies
  • Coordinate programs and services related to the development of Alberta's health workforce
  • Collaborate closely with partners across the system to advance innovative approaches
  • Develop and implement health workforce policy to achieve a high quality, accessible, and sustainable health system

Requirements

  • Recognized as an influential leader with a strategic focus
  • Extensive related senior management experience with strengths in workforce planning, policy framework development, and legislative and regulatory processes
  • In-depth knowledge of the Alberta health care environment and understanding of the health sector workforce and labour market conditions
  • Ability to promote change, inspire innovative approaches and motivate teams to achieve results
