Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team at our aluminum can manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining automatic cutting presses, wall ironers, washers, drying ovens, and other equipment. Additionally, they will operate and maintain low-pressure oil, gas, or solid fuel-fired automatic boilers and auxiliary equipment in an efficient manner within control standards and related equipment.

ResponsibilitiesThe primary function of this role is to ensure the smooth operation of production equipment, including all checks and repairs. This includes:
  • Setting up, adjusting, and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and checking equipment
  • Identifying and addressing any issues with equipment, including mechanical or operational troubles
  • Making necessary repairs or replacements, short of machining parts
  • Operating equipment to check its operation and ensuring it is functioning correctly
  • Examining, testing, and measuring product for quality specifications
  • Collecting water samples from designated locations and testing concentrations
  • Maintaining piping systems, checking, repairing, or replacing valves and controls
  • Using tow motors or other mechanical devices for handling drums and performing related duties

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Previous mechanic or machine maintenance experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods
