We are seeking an experienced commercial lines leader to join our team at DGA Careers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of underwriters, developing and maintaining broker relationships, and providing market intelligence and strategic insights to underwriting management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of underwriters and provide support and direction for decisions on new business and renewals
  • Develop and maintain broker relationships through networking and providing support to broker partners
  • Provide market intelligence and strategic insights to underwriting management
  • Participate in product development initiatives by providing necessary analysis and reports
  • Train and mentor junior underwriters and provide underwriting sign-off as needed

Qualifications:

  • Eight years of commercial lines underwriting experience, preferably MGA experience
  • At least 3 years of leadership/management experience in underwriting
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Level 1 General Insurance license
  • Professional designation preferred (CAIB, CIP, CRM, FCIP or in progress)
