Job Title: Radiation Therapist I

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist I to join our team at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre in Regina. As a Radiation Therapist I, you will be responsible for preparing, planning, and delivering accurate and precise ionizing radiation treatments to cancer patients according to the prescription of a Radiation Oncologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and plan ionizing radiation treatments for cancer patients
  • Deliver precise and accurate radiation treatments according to the prescription of a Radiation Oncologist
  • Work closely with Radiation Oncologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective treatment plans
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient treatments and progress

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Radiation Therapy
  • Certification for Basic Life Saver (BLS)-C
  • Licensed with Saskatchewan Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (SAMRT)
  • Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with a variety of computer systems and software applications
  • Ability to perform a range of Radiation Therapy methods and processes including treatment planning, simulation, and treatment
  • Moderate judgment and problem-solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a variety of alternatives
  • Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Human relations skills are required to develop formal relationships of a therapeutic nature to assist others in achieving their short or long-term goals
  • Accuracy of fine motor movements required for operating treatment unit controls, tattooing patients, and data entry
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of culturally responsive care for First Nations and Métis people
