Activity Worker Job Summary

As an Activity Worker, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing activity programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Activity Planning and Delivery: Develop and lead activity programs that promote physical and cognitive well-being, social interaction, and emotional engagement.
  • Leisure Activity Organization: Arrange outings, events, and activities that cater to residents' interests and abilities, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Volunteer Management: Supervise and support volunteers during activity programs, promoting a positive and respectful environment.
  • Transportation and Logistics: Safely transport residents to and from activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Communication and Reporting: Maintain open communication with residents, families, and staff, documenting activity programs and reporting any concerns or issues.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Grade 12 education and completion of recognized recreational courses, plus two years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license and Food Safe Level 1 certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
