Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Communications Specialist to join our team at FortisBC.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $53,100 per year, based on a bi-weekly pay schedule of $2,531.00.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for communicating various IS-related items via intranet pages or other FortisBC communication methods. This includes developing and/or updating web sites within Information Systems, maintaining server/application information, participating in policy development, and creating user guides and written communications.

You will also participate in regular change control meetings, act as a permanent member of the Change Advisory Board (CAB), and develop communications, job aids, and training for IS projects, initiatives, and issues.

Furthermore, you will administer monthly reporting on service levels and perform additional related duties as required.

Requirements
  • Certificate in Communications supplemented by courses related to Computer Information Systems or a certificate related to Computer Information Systems supplemented by courses in Communications and Web design.
  • Three years directly related relevant experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer network concepts and web development (content and design).
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems operations, environment, and peripherals.
  • Thorough knowledge of communication technology and software in use in FortisBC.
  • Strong communications planning and project management skills with sound budgeting and time management skills, including the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proofreading, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
