About the Role

Wood is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Minerals and Metals team in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to plan, schedule, and execute complex engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of mechanical and piping design codes, calculations, equipment selection, and specification development.
  • Manage project controls, budgets, and schedules within an engineering consulting environment.
  • Collaborate with international execution centres and vendors to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced engineers and designers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of related experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in BC, Canada, and good standing with EGBC.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proactive personality and willingness to coach and guide others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Site experience.
  • Strong client management experience.
  • Detailed hydraulic analysis experience.
  • Experience working on the owner or vendor side.
  • Knowledge of fabrication.
  • International experience.
  • Registered or ability to register in other provinces in Canada or states in the US.
  • Strong design knowledge of material handling equipment.
