About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer-in-Training to join our team at MCW Group of Companies. As a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training, you will play a key role in the design and development of mechanical systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement mechanical system designs using AutoCAD and/or Revit software.
  • Prepare and produce drawings and schematics of mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure drawing integrity and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation of contract documents, including specifications.
  • Work with the field review team to ensure code compliance during the construction phase.
  • Collaborate with project teams and project managers to ensure on-time project completion.
  • Update project schedules regularly and assist with shop-drawing reviews.
  • Provide technical and administrative support throughout all phases of the project.
  • Establish and promote client relationships.
  • Coordinate with internal production teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of finished products.
  • Attend site and online meetings to communicate directly with clients and complete projects from start to finish.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
  • Current enrollment or working towards obtaining EIT designation in British Columbia with EGBC.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience in the consulting industry or equivalent.
  • Background in developing construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Familiarity with bid and tendering processes.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience in multi-disciplined project coordination.
  • Experience working with customers and client bases.
  • Experience working in team-based environments.
Preferred Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and complete deliverables.
  • Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Engineering standards.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
