Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credentialing and Recruitment Specialist to join our Medical Affairs team at William Osler Health System. This role will provide administrative support in the credentialing and recruitment of physicians, dentists, and midwives, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate and process new applications for professional staff, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate temporary privileges and track credentialing documentation, identifying any concerns or potential issues.
  • Meet with the Senior Advisor to review applications in process and identify those completed and ready for presentation to the credentials committee.
  • Attend meetings of the credentials committee and minute meetings as requested.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new physicians, including obtaining photo ID badges, parking, and access to hospital facilities.
  • Prepare and distribute reports, draft letters, and other documentation as requested by the Senior Advisor or Director, Medical Affairs.
  • Develop and post job ads for positions available within the various medical departments, receive applications, and share with the physician leader and Senior Advisor.
  • Schedule interview panels, prepare interview materials, and attend interviews with candidates.
  • Ensure reference checks are completed by the respective physician leader on external candidates prior to moving forward to the next step of the process.
  • Prepare offer letters and contracts for successful candidates, and forward information to the Senior Advisor, Credentialing and HOCC, to enable the application for privileges process.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years administrative work experience in a hospital or similar healthcare setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of physicians and staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple assignments.
  • Ability to work within a strong cohesive team structure, with a strong client focus and willingness to learn and understand the application of the Public Hospitals Act, CPSO policies, and professional staff bylaws.
  • Knowledge and experience in recruitment and credentialing practices would be an asset.
