We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Promotion Specialist to join our team at the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the Disability Management Program, managing medical leaves, return to work processes, and accommodation plans for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
Key Responsibilities- Implement the Disability Management Program, ensuring compliance with collective agreements and applicable legislation
- Manage medical leaves, return to work processes, and accommodation plans for employees
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, managers, and healthcare providers
- Provide education and support to employees on workplace health and safety, disability management, and return to work strategies
- Collaborate with the Manager of Health Promotion and Wellness to develop and implement health promotion initiatives
- University graduate or post-secondary diploma in Human Resources, Health/Rehab Science, or related field
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in Disability Case Management, managing high volume caseloads in a unionized environment
- WSIB experience required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in design and implementation of Return-to-Work programs
- Working knowledge of rehabilitation, ergonomics, pathophysiology, and supportive counselling techniques
- Relevant experience working in a multi-unionized environment
- Experience with Parklane software
