About the Role

The Department of Education is seeking a skilled Facilities Project Manager to join our Operations team. This is a permanent position working 75 hours biweekly.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the planning, development, and capital maintenance of all physical facilities and related equipment and grounds required for the effective operation of Public Schools programs throughout the Territory.

You will work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure the health and safety of facilities and equipment, and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage contracts and procurement processes for facilities-related services and equipment
  • Coordinate with contractors to scope out work and negotiate quotes
  • Oversee major projects, including estimating, budgeting, and management of human, financial, and material resources
  • Track and update project status
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure seamless delivery of services

Requirements

  • Significant experience in contract management and procurement methodology
  • Experience working with contractors and managing projects
  • Post-secondary education in architecture, engineering, or a related discipline (an asset)
