Job Summary and Requirements

This is a permanent position working 75 hours biweekly.

The Department of Education in the Yukon government is seeking a skilled individual to join the Operations team as a Facilities Project Manager.

This role is responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining all physical facilities and related equipment and grounds required for the effective operation of Public Schools programs throughout the Territory.

The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in contract management and procurement methodology, as well as experience working with contractors and managing major projects.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to develop and implement policies and programs that promote student success and enhance educational outcomes.

Essential Qualifications

  • Significant experience in contract management and procurement methodology
  • Experience working with contractors and scoping out work and negotiating quotes
  • Experience managing major projects, including estimating, budgeting, and management of human, financial and material resources
  • Recent experience tracking and updating project status
  • Post-secondary education in architecture, engineering or related discipline would be considered an asset
