Job Title: Food Counter Attendant

A&W Revelstoke is seeking a Food Counter Attendant to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a friendly and efficient Food Counter Attendant to take customer orders, accept payment, and serve customers at our food counter or table. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing, heating, and finishing cooked food items, as well as keeping all stations clean.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take customer orders and accept payment using a cash register
  • Answer customer questions about menu items and serve customers at the counter
  • Prepare food such as sandwiches, hamburgers, deep-fried sides, milkshakes, ice cream dishes, and beverages
  • Clean, peel, slice, and trim food items using manual and electric appliances
  • Stock refrigerators, cupboards, and salad bars
  • Keep records of food quantities used or wasted
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, and storage areas
  • Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs
  • Help other workers who prepare or serve food and beverages
  • Sweep and mop floors, and perform other duties to assist team members
  • Bring clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving/staging areas
  • Refill condiments and other supplies at tables and in serving areas
  • Unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, cupboards, and storage areas
  • Sort and remove garbage and wash garbage cans
  • Unload trucks picking up or delivering food and supplies
Requirements:
  • Ability to deal well with a variety of people and work as a team player
  • Initiative, good judgment, decision-making, and working well with authority
  • Responsibility, reliability, and honesty
  • Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods, some heavy lifting, and acceptable oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues
