Job Title: Food Service Counter Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Counter Attendant to join our team at Southside Market.

Job Summary:

The Food Service Counter Attendant will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and ensuring the efficient operation of our food service counter.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety standards and ensuring all equipment and utensils are sanitized and stored properly.
  • Operate dishwashers, wash and sanitize dishes, and maintain a clean and organized storage area.
  • Replenish condiments and supplies, and restock refrigerators and salad bars as needed.
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items, and package take-out food for customers.
  • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables, and take orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Stock and maintain inventory levels, and handle and store cleaning products and chemicals.
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and sweep, mop, and polish floors as needed.
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a food service environment an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, and working under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Reliability, teamwork, and adaptability essential.
