About the Division of General Surgery at Sunnybrook

The Division of General Surgery at Sunnybrook provides all aspects of HPB oncologic care, including care of patients with neuroendocrine malignancies. Our team performs approximately 240 HPB cancer operative cases per annum.

About the Job Description

We are inviting applications for a full-time member of the Division of General Surgery who has significant expertise in minimally invasive/ robotic HPB surgery and a strong academic (research/ education/ quality improvement) track record. This position will be based primarily at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Responsibilities and Requirements

The successful candidate will be a full-time credentialed member of the Division of General Surgery at SHSC. They will preferably have substantial experience in providing excellent clinical multidisciplinary care in HPB surgery and an established track record in research or education. Clinically, they will manage a broad range of HPB oncology cases, including neuroendocrine malignancies. In addition, they must have strong skills in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. The candidate must be able to work collegially and collaboratively with the team of healthcare providers.

Required Qualifications and Experience

The candidate should possess certification either from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American Board of Surgery, or equivalent. They must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. A relevant graduate degree is required, as well as significant experience in MIS/ robotic HPB oncologic surgery and interest in the care of patients with neuroendocrine malignancies.

Salary and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary of $350,000 and above, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
