About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Licensed Technician to join our team at OpenRoad Auto Group. As a Licensed Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and quality service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and prioritize repair orders from the DMS Dispatch System, Shop Foreman, Service Advisor, or Service Management, and perform work as outlined with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with dealership, factory, and ministry standards.
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain necessary parts and save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or requested by the customer.
  • Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required and advise the Service Advisor immediately.
  • Inform the dispatcher when a job is started, finished, or interrupted, and be particularly attentive to repair orders marked 'RUSH' or 'CUSTOMER WAITING'.
  • Ensure protective measures are taken with every vehicle, including seat covers, fender liners, floor mats, steering wheel and shifter covers.
  • Complete and maintain documentation of work performed, including road-testing vehicles to quality-check work.
  • Supervise the work of apprentice technicians as assigned by management and attend factory-sponsored training classes to stay up-to-date on technical bulletins.
  • Keep the shop area neat, clean, and free of safety hazards, and comply with federal, provincial, and municipal regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.
  • Assist in creating quotes for additional work required and keep up-to-date on online training as required.
  • Follow company safety policies and practices, and immediately report any accidents to a Manager/Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License
  • Valid Ministry of Ontario Motor Vehicle Inspection License (310S)
  • Working knowledge of automotive equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to maintain optimal customer satisfaction
  • Highly self-motivated and organized individual
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively work with other members of the Service Department team
  • Commitment to consistently delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
  • Valid ODP Certificate (Ozone Depletion Prevention)
  • Valid Lift Certificate
