Electrical Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our Pre-Construction team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in estimating electrical project costs, assembling quantity take-offs, and developing quotation submissions.
Your Responsibilities- Estimate electrical project costs and develop quotation submissions
- Prepare requests for quotations and obtain competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Develop quotations for opportunities ranging from $1M to $100M in total value
- Proof-read estimates for completeness and compliance with scope and specifications
- Strategize and maintain communication with suppliers and customers
- Draft proposals and submit tenders, meeting specialized requirements as needed
- Contribute to the development of bid labour and material databases
- Analyze current practices and pricing, identify areas for cost saving and process improvement
- Work with the Chief Estimator to develop project indirect costs and overheads for each estimate
- Support and mentor junior estimators
- Minimum 4 years of experience estimating electrical work for projects in various market sectors, including industrial, commercial, higher education, healthcare, and infrastructure
- Relevant electrical TQ or field experience, or AScT, E.I.T., or P.Eng. status
- Sound knowledge of the electrical sub-trades scope of work and installation methodology
- Good understanding of electrical drawings and ability to interpret schematics and P&ID's
- Good understanding of industry practices, electrical tendering processes, and bid depository regulations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
- Superior proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Accubid and LiveCount estimating software
- Experience using BlueBeam, AutoCAD, or BIM, an asset
- Able to build relationships and work effectively within a team environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, and ability to handle multiple competing priorities
- Experience in a leadership capacity, mentoring junior team members, preferred
