Job SummaryWe're seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team in Sherwood Park, Alberta. As an Electrical Estimator, you'll provide estimation services to our Automation's Field Services division, working on projects in the oil and gas industry. You'll be a self-starter, able to take initiative with minimal supervision and produce detailed proposals in an efficient manner.
Responsibilities- Prepare electrical and instrumentation estimates for projects in the oil and gas industry
- Collaborate with estimation and project team to identify issues pre and post tender
- Communicate with clients during tender process to fully understand estimate scope
- Communicate with third party subcontractors that may be needed for estimate scope
- Prepare information and participate in bid review as well as post project cost review
- Participate in site walk downs to better understand scope of work
- An Electrician with a minimum of 5 years of field experience in the industrial sector
- Estimation experience is an asset
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline is an asset
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to understand and interpret different types of drawing packages in the industrial and commercial sectors
- Good time-management skills and able to prioritize multiple tasks quickly
- Strong attention to detail
- Thrives in a fast paced environment
- Able to work individually as well together with the estimation team to prepare bids
- Good organization and communication skills
- Willing to take on large task loads and prioritize and execute efficiently
