Job Title: Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at The Grand Canal Retirement Residence. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Determine food portion sizes and costs to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain a well-stocked inventory
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet the dietary needs of our residents
  • Prepare special meals for patients as instructed by the dietitian or chef
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Manage kitchen operations to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Team player with excellent time management skills
