The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality care to our residents while developing their skills and expertise.
Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
About the Role
We are looking for experienced Registered Nurses to provide nursing care to our residents. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of our residents.
Responsibilities:
- To provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RN.
- To utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
- To ensure a timely and accessible admission for the residents including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home.
- To ensure that resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
- To ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- The ability to deal with others in an effective, compassionate, and supportive manner.
- A commitment to respecting each resident as an individual and being aware of their need for self-respect and privacy.
- Knowledge of relevant Federal, Provincial, and Municipal statutes that influence the operation of the nursing home and the nursing department.
- Medical Clearance (including TB tests).
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check.
- Clear Criminal Record check.
