Job Summary

The Lead, Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, plays a pivotal role in promoting a culture of safety and quality within Fraser Health.

This position works collaboratively with operational and clinical leaders to provide expertise in quality improvement principles, practices, and tools. A key focus area includes the application of quality improvement methods to enhance patient care outcomes, service utilization, safety, and risk reduction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with healthcare leaders and physicians to provide leadership and quality improvement expertise to teams in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of improvement initiatives.
  • Identify learning needs of teams related to quality improvement methodology, tools, and system processes.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate education resources to meet those needs.
  • Provide consultation, guidance, and support to teams in the use of tools and mechanisms to plan, test, measure, monitor, and evaluate initiatives designed to improve patient care outcomes.
  • Provide facilitation and coaching to enable teams in the development, monitoring, and analysis of key performance indicators.
  • Provide expert support for analysis of multiple sources of data in order to promote a balanced approach for identifying and acting on improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and review of policies and guidelines related to patient safety and quality of care.

Requirements

  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master's Degree in a healthcare-related field.
  • Five years' recent, related experience in healthcare services leadership in progressively more responsible and varied roles.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement principles, methods, and tools.
