Job Description

The Strategic Philanthropy Director will be responsible for managing the advancement budget, developing donor recognition plans, and overseeing fundraising and donor relations programs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the annual fund, major gifts, special events, and alumni relations programs
  • Collaborating with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, Parent Organization, faculty, staff, and external partners to drive fundraising success
  • Producing key advancement materials, including case statements, policy statements, major gift prospectuses, and solicitation guidelines

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should possess at least 7-10 years of professional experience, including significant development experience. They should also demonstrate knowledge of major gift fundraising best practices, prior campaign and volunteer management experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail. A well-developed sense of curiosity, ingenuity, perseverance, and good judgment is essential.
