Job DescriptionThe Project Manager, Facilities Services will act as a resource on technical inquiries, assist with the identification and resolution of base building and technical issues, and keep projects on time and budget. This role requires strong inter-personal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with others.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for:
- Participating in the facilities and capital planning process, and integrating it with the annual planning process.
- Leading facility related capital projects programming, development and implementation.
- Actively contributing to the establishment of, promoting, supporting and ensuring consistent application of the organization's project management standards and practices.
- Making improvements to the current capital implementation systems and processes.
- Ensuring all corporate projects follow all safety policies, applicable standards and procedures.
- Addressing change management issues effectively to support project planning and implementation.
- Acting as and/or assisting Alberta Infrastructure project manager for project tender, administration and project implementation.
- Coordinating/facilitating engineering design and tender document preparation.
- Developing project feasibility studies.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in a related field (Interior Design, Engineering, Architecture/Environmental Studies).
- 5 years experience in capital project planning, development and management.
- Experience in a research & development (R&D) environment is considered an asset.
- Working experience with AutoCAD is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with R&D facility design, operations and management.
- Formal training/experience in project coordination/management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to manage project team and budget.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Leadership, team work, and collaboration skills.
