Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Expertise: Provide leadership, expertise, and advice to senior management and related disciplines in all matters related to maintenance of equipment for the plant.
- Preventative Maintenance: Achieve optimum equipment performance and availability through the execution of preventative maintenance programs to meet operational plans, schedules, and standards.
- Corrective Maintenance: Direct the execution of corrective and breakdown maintenance activities to ensure they are carried out safely, correctly, and efficiently in order to maximize equipment availability.
- Mentorship and Guidance: Provide mentorship and guidance for maintenance employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Capital Projects: Manage capital projects to budget; liaison with service and equipment suppliers and lead the introduction and integration of new technology and equipment into the operation.
- Optimization: Optimize production up-time and equipment reliability and availability; ensuring sufficient resources are scheduled and assigned to support manufacturing operations.
- Performance Metrics: Develop plans to ensure annual KPI objectives are achieved for safety, quality, productivity, equipment/machinery reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Relationships: Foster strong relationships with third-party contractors and ensure frequent communication with internal and external departments and stakeholders.
- Staff Management: Hire and oversee training and supervision of staff.
- Facilities Management: Ensure facilities power and mechanical systems are sustained at all times.
- 8+ years of maintenance experience with a preference given to those coming from a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the maintenance of equipment and facilities in a large-scale facility.
- Post-secondary education, with training in engineering or trades accepted, ideally with a strong electrical expertise.
- Strong self-motivator with a commitment to achieving excellence.
- Exhibit sound judgment with excellent decision-making, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to employee health and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional demeanor.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
