Maintenance Person Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Person to join our team at Holiday Inn Express Newmarket. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our hotel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs, and operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers, and clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Safety and Security: Perform safety and security checks, and ensure that all areas of the hotel are secure and well-maintained.
  • Teamwork: Co-ordinate, assign and review work with other team members, and work collaboratively to achieve our goals.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Language: Langue de travail: Anglais.
  • Work Schedule: Heures de travail: 30 hours per week.
